Richard C. Ward, Senior Health Actuary at Cavanaugh Macdonald Consulting, has spent 12 years consulting with governmental plans and employers on their employee benefit programs. Richard has extensive experience in the development of effective benefit strategies for all types of health and welfare benefits - medical, prescription drugs, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, etc.

Richard also has extensive experience evaluating Other Post-Employment Benefits (OPEB). He has conducted initial evaluations under GASB Statements 43 and 45 for many local municipalities, counties and state-level plans and employers. In addition, he has helped many of these plans and employers develop strategies to manage their OPEB liability and expense. He is a frequent speaker on the subject.

Richard holds a B.S. degree in mathematics from George Mason University and is a well-credentialed actuary.
